Savannah DollhouseReviewsI purchased Kidcraft's Savannah Dollhouse for my 3 1/2 year old daughter for Christmas. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews about it being cheap or falling apart and taking so long to put together, but I have to say that 4 months after purchasing it I glad we did. I did alot of research and comparison and it is the best dollhouse I have seen for the money. It's very large (I think around 5 feet) and something she can continue to grow into. The furniture is pretty nice and durable, large enough for Barbies or Barbie-size dolls. She was so excited to get it and plays with it almost every day. Her friends and cousins also like it and there is plenty of room for a couple children to play at the same time. My girls 8 and 4 love this doll house. It is big enough for the both of them to share and keeps them entertained. Now if I could keep my 4 year old boy from thinking that it a jungle gym it might last for a very long time. The walls are not solid wood, but the frame and all of the furniture is, at this price I found the house to be a steal and so very worth the price. The only item which I (as an adult which is not who the house is meant for) found to be ill fitting was the porch swing, which does not stay level. My five year old, three year old and all the neighbor hood kids seem to have no issue with this at all. FYI. Couldn't be more pleased, and it took me about 1 to 1.5 hours to put together. Our grandaughter loves Barbie and we were searching for a house for her dolls for Christmas. This is much cheaper and way more sturdy than the "Barbie" brand houses. Plus this comes with furniture (most made of wood. She played all day at our house Christmas day with this and my daughter says its still one of her favorites. Easy assembly. Good quality. Fair price. What more could you want. We bought this for our 4YO daughter. Was delivered within 3 days using free shipping. Assembly was pretty easy considering the substantial amount of fasteners involved. Well engineered and the quality of the parts is impressive. Provided you take your time and fit it up properly prior to tightening the screws, you should be able to build this thing within an hour and it will be solid as a rock. It is big enough for Barbie dolls to fit easily and also comes with furniture that fits the dolls equally as well. We had been looking for the Barbie Dream House when we saw this dollhouse. Besides the price difference and the obvious construction differences (wood and screws -vs- glued plastic), this house just looks better and seems to be more suited to long term play for kids. I highly recomend getting this one if your undecided. Average Rating:![]() |

KidKraft Savannah DollhouseReviewsI was very fearful of buying this after all the comments from the manufacturer and purchasers regarding the set up time. I am happy to say that I did it all by myself without very much trouble.I had feared that I would need male assistance as I am not assembly inclined. It looks great and is a really elegant addition to my daughters toy base. The furniture looks and feels like "big people" furniture. It is also NOT FAKE LOOKING like the Barbie House. The real linen on the bed is such a nice touch. I also adore the old fashioned wood aspect. Plastic doll houses do not seem like "real old school" doll houses that most little girls dream about. My daughter really loves it. As you can tell-so do I. They even sell additional furniture that you can re-decorate with. It fits Barbie's and the new Liv Girls. She even put her baby alive on the bottom floor. My daughter is 7 and it is taller than she is and that is the icing on the cake. She won't out grow it for a while. Definitely buy it. I researched doll houses like my computer and my car. This is the best one by far. Kid and Mom tested. Kid and Mom approved. This took us two hours to put together but will last my 3-year-old girl's childhood (maybe beyond). It is a wonderful doll house with realistic "decor" on the walls; just enough pretty, durable furniture; and plenty of rooms for several dolls to share. The best part is that it is the perfect size for her Barbie dolls and even has an "attic" where we store extra doll paraphernalia. It is very realistic and is the doll house I dreamed of having when I was a little girl. I can't believe it is comparable in price to the cheapy, plastic, Barbie townhouse. What a find! Santa brought this to my 4 year old daughter. We love it. It is taller than she is, so the attic is pretty much for storage. The stairs are plastic but a sturdy plastic. Everything else is pretty sturdy. The frame is of solid painted wood while the walls are a laminated plywood. The pictures of furniture and decoration are on the lamination - not on stickers you have to apply. Barbies fit in it and use the furniture just fine. The furniture is nice and simple. The swing needs adjusting to work well - I might even add legs and make it a loveseat instead - as long as the little owner goes for it. We added an existing Barbie kitchen and bath set that we already had to it just fine. The bed will not fit front to back in the bedroom - it has to fit sideways or at an angle, so we cannot add in another bed which we thought about so the Barbies could share a bedroom. She doesn't play with it herself very much - she seems to need someone else to play with her - but I think that will change as she gets older. She might be a little intimidated by it. It is very sturdy for the type of play it was intended for. It should be attached to the wall for stability - it's that big. I ordered the doll house for my granddaughters.. When it arrived I was concerned about putting it together. What if there were missing parts,or badly written instructions. I was pleasently surprise, all the parts accounted for, instructions, easy to follow. My twelve year old and I put it together in about three and a half hours... Its beautiful doll house, my granddaughters love it... My husband and I bought this for our girls for Christmas. I have to say I was extremly happy with the quality at first. The furniture is solid, and really cute, the doll house itself is gorgeous and it wasn't very difficult to get it put together. My husband did it himself and it took him about an hour. He did tell me that he thought it was a bit confusing at first. The problem we are having is that one of the floors seems to be coming apart. We will have to glue it or something because it wont stay. Other than that it's absolutely beautiful and for the price I'd say it's a good deal. Average Rating:![]() |

Mayberry ManorReviewsI bought this for my daughter's 4th birthday. It arrived within two days and was extremely easy to put together. All the pieces slot into place so it is just as easy to dismantle, but is sturdy enough for children to play with. I am very impressed with the finish of the house. The sash windows open and shut, and stay shut with magnets. My daughter opens the roof herself and takes it off to make the front path. We bought 3 sets of furniture for the house (drawing room, kitchen and bedroom) and you really don't need any more, although we'll probably also get the children's bedroom. The accessories are wonderful with fantastic attention to detail, eg. the kitchen has milk bottles for the fridge and a slice of toast in the toaster; the chairs have tie-on cushions - and all made out of wood and fabric rather than plastic. The family is cute (although not currently available on Amazon; we bought it separately). They are primarily wood but are jointed so that can stand, sit, dance etc. The gift was a huge success and I expect she will be playing with it for many years. I bought my daughter the Plan Toys My First Dollhouse and Basement when she was two -- it was so sturdy she could stand on it and it wouldn't budge. It was solid wood but plain, completely unadorned. Last Christmas, when she turned four, Santa brought this dollhouse as her "big girl" dollhouse. It is very pretty. It looks charming in her room. My only complaint is that it is not quite as sturdy as the Plan Toys dollhouse, (in that it will move ever so slightly if you give it a sideways nudge, unlike the other one, which will not budge) but it is made for an older child, not a toddler, so she is fine with it and now that she is five, it is perfect. It doesn't fit all the furniture sets I bought: the Rosebud bedroom, dining room, drawing room, living room, nursery/children's bedroom set (for the attic, bathroom and kitchen. We keep the kitchen and bathroom in the Plan Toys dollhouse, as this one JUST fits the rest. The furniture is made for an older child; one drop on the floor and the door fell off the armoir of the Rosebud Bedroom set. A little superglue worked great, but I would prefer not to have her be so careful, since things will get dropped. All in all, it was a good purchase. It was very, very easy to put together, the screened decor is truly lovely, and it is very, very big. It was a showstopper under the tree! Average Rating:![]() |
